Forge
Deep research takes a week. The redline takes another. The strategy was due yesterday.
The work that moves a business forward is the careful kind the calendar never respects: the diligence dossier on a target, the sixty-page contract that needs every clause read and marked up, the competitive research a campaign has to stand on. Hand any of it to a general chatbot and it will cheerfully invent the sources, miss the clause that matters, and call it analysis. Forge is the workbench for the work that has to be right. It runs deep, multi-pass research against primary sources, marks up contracts clause by clause with tracked-changes redlines, and turns what it finds into campaigns and strategy, with every claim carrying a citation back to where it came from. Research and legal work are not one-shot prompts.
Most “AI for legal” or “AI for research” tools give you a chatbot and a blank canvas. Forge gives you durable artifacts: Dossiers, Legal Matters, Campaigns, and Tracks, each carrying citations, lineage, and revision history from session to session.
How it differs
- case-law databases. Those tools index case law and statutes. Forge does not replace them; it operates on the documents you are working with right now. Upload a sixty-page MSA, get every clause indexed by character offset, plain-English explanations, severity scoring, market-comparison rationale, and a tracked-changes redline.
- a chatbot doing legal research. A general-purpose chatbot tells you what it remembers about a company. Forge runs a six-pass pipeline against real sources (UK Companies House, SEC EDGAR, multi-source neural and web search, social, review, and press). Every claim in the resulting Dossier carries a citation linking back to a verified source.
- manual research. A senior analyst can produce a deeper dossier than Forge in eight to fourteen hours. Forge produces a comparable narrative artifact in ten to fifteen minutes per dossier, with cited sources, source-discrepancy callouts, and a holistic critical-analysis pass.
Who it’s for
In-house legal teams running contract reviews and pairing counter-revisions against prior decisions.
Due-diligence and M&A teams building target dossiers in minutes.
HR compliance leads running handbook reviews and tracking jurisdiction-specific policy drift.
PR strategists and marketing leads running campaigns with shared research underneath multiple downstream tracks.
Crisis response leads standing up a war room with participants, decisions, messages, and tasks in one timeline.
What it does
The research pipeline runs in six passes. Pass zero confirms the subject entity. Passes one through five run sectional research against primary sources, each verified independently and re-runnable. Pass six is a critical-analysis synthesis across the whole dossier, surfacing blind spots, source discrepancies, and the questions the analyst should ask next.
The legal pipeline runs in five passes. Pass one extracts document structure. Pass two extracts every clause through a three-phase chunked architecture with deterministic character-offset resolution. Pass three writes the plain-English explanations the non-lawyer reviewer reads. Pass four runs severity scoring and counter-language drafting against market norms. Pass five produces the executive summary. A separate Pass six runs on counter-revisions to pair every new-round issue against its prior-round counterpart.
Durable artifacts. A Dossier is a structured research profile with versioned snapshots and change detection per section. A Legal Matter is the container for a contract negotiation with its full document chain, clause inventory, issue triage, and revision-round pairing. A Campaign groups research, evidence, and a subject entity. A Track inside a Campaign is one go-to-market thrust. The data model survives sessions; the work compounds.
How it fits the ecosystem
Forge sits upstream of Foundry, Orbit, and Axis. A Forge dossier shows up on the Orbit company detail page and feeds verified entity data into any campaign or document downstream. When a Forge legal matter is ready for execution, the cleaned DOCX hands off to Foundry. When a Forge compliance finding identifies a policy drift, it flows into Axis as a ControlGap with full provenance.
